Women in Politics

August 2024

Hello from the UNI,

We’re excited to share updates and highlights from our program at the University of Northern Iowa. Our mission today is to celebrate and support the contributions of women in public service. Let’s dive into the latest news and events!

Annual Women in Politics

Bipartisan Scholarship Benefit

In October, we held our annual benefit to honor the achievements of Iowa women in public service. The event also raised money for the Women in Politics Scholarship fund, which supports UNI undergraduate students studying political science or public administration with an interest in public service. The scholarship is backed by an advisory board led by Doris J. Kelley and Leah Cox.

Dynamic Presentation by

Courtney Maxwell Greene

This year’s event featured an inspiring presentation by Courtney Maxwell Greene, the Director of External Partnerships and Community Engagement for UnityPoint Health. With 15 years of experience in television broadcast news and extensive experience in Iowa government, Ms. Greene brought a wealth of knowledge and insight to the event!
